Q: “I did not receive my downloads today. What should I do?”

A: If your workstation is shut down, restarted, in sleep mode or logged off during the automatic download process, your downloads will not run automatically. You will first need to verify that the Download Transfer Utility is running on your download machine and then run a manual download.Steps and helpful tips follow:

To verify that the Download Transfer Utility is running:

1. Go to Start Button

2. >All Programs

3. >Startup

4. >Download Transfer Utility

5. Double click to get started

6. This should pull in any files waiting to process from the C:/XEDL Folder

7. Open Partner XE

8. >Communication>Download>Download to run a manual download

If you don’t see the Download Transfer Utility in the Startup menu you will need to take the following course of action:

1. Go to Control Panel

2. >Administrative Tools

3. >Services

4. >Partner XE Download Transfer Service

5. Double Click to Open

6. Click Start (if start is grayed out select Restart)

7. This should pull in any files waiting to process from the C:/XEDL Folder

8. Open Partner XE

9. >Communication>Download>Download to run a manual download

Remember….

  • Your designated “download machine” should be a desktop computer as opposed to a laptop computer. It does not work as well on a laptop.
  • To be effective, your download computer cannot go into a Sleep Mode. To verify that your machine isn’t going into a sleep mode got to Start Button>Control Panel>Power Options and check that Sleep Mode or Power Saver options are not selected.
